Biblical Counseling

We Love What We Do
The impact from financial stress, anxiety, anger, resentment and a host of other spiritual disorders are dismembering marriages, families, businesses, and causing dysfunction at an alarming rate.
Christian leaders (Pastors, Youth Leaders, Mission Executives, and the like) are finding the demands for counseling are increasing at an unprecedented pace, and many Pastors are burning out trying to meet the needs ALONE!

The Solution

One answer to this growing problem is to equip (deputize) lay Christians for Biblical Counseling. This need has prompted the development of CRD’s Biblical Counseling Training Program...

The program is not intended to produce counselors separate from the ministry of the church, but rather to train Christians within the church in the “how to” of counseling individuals with personal or family problems through a proper application of Biblical truths and principles.

As the Apostle Paul Wrote to the Church at Rome

"Personally I am satisfied about you, my brethren, that you yourselves are rich in goodness, amply filled with all (spiritual) knowledge and competent to admonish and counsel and instruct one another also"
(Romans 15:14 Amplified Bible)
  • To assist the individual in meeting his own problems
  • To equip the church in the skills of counseling

This training program in biblical counseling assists the Pastor, teacher, or Christian worker to develop a core of trained laymen and women within the church to meet the needs of the community around it.

Biblical Counseling Courses

Locations

(BC-1): Self-Counseling

The first course in Biblical Counseling Training provides the essential biblical principles for change. We need to confront the failures and shortcomings in our own lives from a biblical viewpoint, and learn how to put off the old nature, and put on the new nature before we are able to help anyone else. The elements and principles of self-confrontation contained in the course are used throughout the remainder of the courses.

(BC-2): Biblical Counseling

The need to counsel, admonish, exhort and confront one another is an essential ingredient of the New Testament Church. To accomplish this requirement, the total counseling theory must be formed by the standards of Scripture. The application of these principles in practical case studies and role-plays is the objective of the course.

(BC-3): Biblical Counseling

This course is an on-the-job training experience. The trainee is guided in actual counseling cases under a lead counselor. There are lectures by senior counselors, biblical analysis and discussions of significant problem areas in the various cases. There are also special study assignments concerning cases to which the trainee has been assigned.

(BC-4): Intern Program

All previous study and biblical principles are brought to bear in actual counseling situations during this program. Having completed BC-3 as a trainee, the individual becomes a lead counselor in conducting cases under the supervision of a senior counselor.

There are inherent, in the Scriptures, certain standards and ethics, which must be applied to the biblical counselor. These standards have been set forth by the National Biblical Counseling Association, to which a pre-requisite to certification is a commitment to these standards and its statement of faith. A full discussion of this subject is conducted as part of the Advanced Course – BC-4.

The objective of the biblical counseling courses contained in this series is to provide an acceptable level of competent biblical counseling for ministry within the body of the church. An important aspect of this objective is to provide a reasonable biblical standard of training whereby pastors may certify laymen and women to counsel.
